A thankful return to the Red Coat this weekend.
Working at one of my favourite venues, Stapleford Park as Toastmaster for Louise and Michael. It's one of those bookings that came in over a year ago and then is suddenly upon us! As ever, really looking forward to it.
On Monday I went for a meeting with the various people I am working with on the Butler job for the American band "Journey" I have got the job through Brian Taylor of Taylors Cuisine with whom I worked at Hedsor House on Clare and Robert's wedding last autumn.
It was pretty cool! This was despite getting a punture on the way there.
Tofte Manor , where the job is taking place, is stunning and the owner, Suzy, is delightful. It's a pretty big do for all of us involved and I must admit to a certain nervousness - not like me!!!!!
And now, as they say in all the best films, time for something completely different. As mentioned in last week's epistle I am currently touring bits of Yorkshire on my BSA. Brilliant. Went to all kinds of places including Pickering, Scarborough and Filey yesterday and Castle Howard, Nunnington and Thirsk today.

Did you see us on your way home Andy and Diane?
Last night a trip to the theatre in York was called for. I've never been to the theatre in York before so off to the jolly old Grand Opera House to see Willy Russell's "Blood Brothers"
A musical where only one member of the cast had a decent voice and the theatre's pa system had to work overtime. One dimensional, poorly directed, appalling and unimaginative ensemble work........ Would have made a very good amateur production,
Now this was one night's entertainment, but believe me it was a veritable highlight when compared with the second night's.
Time for the famous York Ghost Walk.
Now I have to admit a certain professional interest here. As some of you may know I lead a fair few of these walks myself and I am always ready to learn from other paractitioners. (That's a euphemism for pinching other peoples' ideas.) There are a number of people doing these walks and so competition was fairly intense. In the end a chap whom we shall call Trevor was decided upon. We shall call him Trevor because that may, or may not be his name. He looked fairly quirky, apparently started the idea of ghost walks and so on. Big Mistake.
He was AWFUL.
What made it even more frustrating was that we were aware of the other ghost walks going on around us that seemed lively and entertaining. All we had was a self-indulgent, short (thankfully) history tour af a very small corner of York. A tip then. If you should ever find yourself in York and are desirous to sample a ghost walk, do not go for the chap wearing a cavalier's hat.
Well dear readers, some work to do for Louise and Michael.
More next week.
Live long and be Toastmastered
