Regular readers may be aware that I own a couple of old motorcycles. One of these is the frequently mentioned 1969 BSA Lightning known as Terry, named after Terry Swadling whom I was at primary school with. Like my memory of Terry S the bike is a little bit flash.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. It is a brilliant piece of kit. I also own a simply gorgeous 1957 AJS called Mr Gough. Mr Gough was the rather dapper gentleman who used to run the sweet shop next to the butcher's shop in which my mum worked. The AJS is also rather dapper and was my 40th birthday present.
However, it is not been brilliantly reliable. I had it looked after by a local guy for years and it was awful. I've gone to someone new now in Old Dalby who has been brilliant so far with Terry. Anyway I think I will, somewhat reluctantly, have to sell him on. So if anyone knows anyone who is in the market for a gorgeous old gentleman of a motorcycle, then point them my way.
Talking of bikes and things I'm off to Yorkshire for a few days next week, touring on Terry. Provided the weather is good it should be brilliant!
The good news is I have another Toastmaster booking for Stapleford in December. It is for Laura. I love Christmas weddings - they are always so romantic.
Apart from that, not too much happening. About to get very busy, particularly on the Toastmaster front.
The cricket season is getting into full-swing and Jack is doing pretty well, scoring quite a few runs and last night taking five wickets in an innings for the first time.
The Bell seems to be propering under new management, and we spent a pleasant evening doing a curry and quiz on Wednesday. Had to leave easrly as it was heading for a late finish and I had an early start, but Hammo took over from us and won. Somehow I don't think I'll see any of the prize.
More soon.
Live long and be Toastmastered.
