.....who knows a man, who danced with the Prince of Wales!
Well it's a bit like that. My mate Wyndebagge,
whom I have mentioned a few times in these august pages has landed a cracker of a tour. He and his pal Chris, working under the name of their truly unique band Revellion are touring with Richie Blackmore!
Yep, the "Since You've Been Gone" Richie Blackmore.
The "Smoke On The Water" Richie Blackmore.
He's not doing rock stuff so much on this tour. It's Blackmore's Night "Dancer and the Moon Tour. Hopefully we will be going to see it in Wolverhampton on July 1st.
I was Toastmaster on Friday night for the University of Bedfordshire's awards ceremony at their rather attractive Putteridge Bury Campus. It was an eventful path to the booking but in the end it all seemed to go pretty well. The staff were pretty glad I was there anyway!
Yesterday was a great day. I spent yesterday trying out new motorbikes. Since the ethanol in fuel is regularly eating parts of Terry the BSA and taking away some of his fabled reliability (!) I have decided to look around for something a little more modern and a little more reliable. To this end I am seriously considering a modern Hinckley Triumph, a Triumph America in particular.
I test rode one yesterday. Very, very nice. I didn't know that vertical twins could be so smooth!
Watch this space.
So what is occurring in the world of Class In A Coat this week?
Thursday night I have a talk of "A Toastmaster's Tales" for a Leicester WI and then on Saturday I am Toastmaster for Reena and John at the drop-dead gorgeous Stowe.
Everything is crossed for the weather. These two have not had much luck so far - organisers going bust, rules being changed and so on. It comes to something in this country when the most you can hope for on your wedding day in June is that it doesn't rain!
As for life in the thriving metropolis that is Frisby-on-the-Wreake; the pub is still shut. This is mildly concerning. I'd rather have a bad pub than no pub. In the fine weather we have had this week it would have been lovely to have strolled down for a libation. Merely that. Not a bacchanalia
(although never rule one of those out completely) just a libation.
Well gentle reader, enough for now. Have a great week.
Live Long And Be Toastmastered.
